Rare Vintage 70s Marion Donaldson Tartan Dress - Size 10/12

Marion Donaldson was a label at the forefront of the medieval revival girly pop. Founded in Glasgow by husband and wife duo Marion and David Donaldson, it became one of the most prolific manufacturing and design companies in the UK during the 1960s. The brand heavily drew on historical influences in its designs. Active from 1966 to 1999, the gold woven label on this particular piece dates it to the 1970s.
This stunning garment features a unique high-neck pork pie collar made from cream waffle print fabric, complemented by a faux pinny bust crafted from brown silk velvet, embellished with large fabric-covered buttons. The skirt is made from a thick cotton blend fabric in a beautiful cottagecore checked pattern and fastens with a zip at the back.
